Established In 1962, the historic
Cocoa Beach landmark stretches 800 feet in to the Atlantic Ocean.
The Cocoa Beach Pier is located right on the beach, there is so much to do here you could spend all day and party well into the night if you choose to. You can surf, go fishing, swimming, play volleyball, shop, enjoy a meal at one of the restaurant, get a cocktail at one of the bars or you can choose to do nothing but hang out and catch some rays at this popular
Florida Pier.
Surfing
There are plenty of great waves off of Cocoa Beach and the water is so warm that most of the year you don't even need a wetsuit. There are designated areas for surfing for the safety of the swimmers and you have to stay a certain distance from the pier but that doesn't stop the dozens of surfers you'll find in the water, especially during the summer in
Florida. The water's edge is great for skim boarding, gliding along the top of the shore water as it flows back into the ocean. Another kind water sport that's becoming extremely popular along Cocoa Beach is Kite Surfing. Kite surfing, as the name suggests, is when a 'kite' is attached to a snow board type board and when the wind kicks up they hit the water.
Fishing
Fishing at Cocoa Beach Pier can be great. In the fall and winter there's bluefish, Spanish mackerel, and bottom fish such as croaker, whiting, sheepshead and drum. Spring and summer you can catch redfish, snook, snapper as well as other bottom fish. Rod and reel rentals are available and you don't even need a fishing license.
Other Beach Activities
If you're more of a 'land lover' Cocoa Beach is a great place to just sit and soak up some rays, play volleyball or take a nice long stroll and enjoy the view. There are nets already set up and if you need suntan lotion, a boogie board or beach chair, there are rentals nearby. The pier is also a great place to watch
Space Shuttle and Rocket Launches. There's even an ice cream cart that roams the beaches some days, what could be better than that?
Drinking & Dining
If you're hungry there's Oh Shucks Seafood Bar, the only open air seafood bar on the beach! Also, they have Marlins Good Times Bar & Grill a casual ocean eatery featuring snacks, sandwiches, homemade soups, and desserts in a relaxed atmosphere. Further down the Cocoa Beach Pier, and a little more upscale there's the Atlantic Ocean Grille, open at 5pm, where you can enjoy steak or seafood 500 feet over the Atlantic. At night there are bars to visit like The Boardwalk - Home of the famous Friday night "Boardwalk Bash" where the locals come to sip on cocktails, feel the cool ocean breezes and listen to the best in live entertainment. Also at the end of the pier there is the Mai Tiki Bar, 800 feet into the ocean it's a spectacular spot to view a Florida sunset.

If you've brought the kids along, no worries there's something they'll enjoy at night too Ricky's Ice Cream Parlor & Arcade. They have ice cream, pizza, and popcorn; they also have a vast assortment of candy.
