Tomoka State Park
Three miles north of Ormond Beach, tucked away in a residential part of town you'll find Tomoka State Park. This park is along the Tomoka River and covers 1,800 acres. It's not really big compared to some other Florida state parks; it's lush and green with many trees. They have a half-mile nature trail, a boat ramp, five picnic areas, and a hundred campsites. You can go canoeing, boating, fishing and see amazing Florida birds of prey like the Bald Eagle and Peregrine Falcon. They have water birds such as egrets, herons, and white ibis; in the water you may see alligators or the endangered West Indian Manatee. Tomoka State Park is part of a few Daytona Motorcycle Loops, like the Ormond Loop, a favorite route of motorcycle enthusiasts. The park is open 8 a.m. to sundown everyday.
