Fishing on the Sanibel Island Pier

Previous Image Gallery Home Next Image
This may be the place where I really got hooked on fishing as a child. On my first trip to Sanibel Island back in 1974 when I was 12 years old, I caught an 8 lb. Black Drum on a live shrimp. The next day my 8 year old brother caught a 5 lb. Spanish Mackerel on a live pilchard. We were both treated like celebrities by all the other fishermen and loved every minute of it. We are both still fishing today, though my brother a bit more. In fact we've owned five boats and spent many hours fishing together, this pier will always have a special place in our hearts.
