Cop shoots at huge lizard in Central Florida

May 28th, 2007

The 4 ½ foot long monitor lizard in the Lost Lake subdivision was sunbathing on the banks of a retention pond Sunday when a police officer took off two shots at the elusive reptile, but it is unknown if the lizard is dead or alive. The lizard has evaded police, wildlife officers and trappers for months. There was even a rumor of a $1,000 bounty on the monitor lizard.
