December 18th, 2007

New Year’s Eve

By Kirby Collins

In Florida we’ll celebrate the arrival of 2008 with champagne and fireworks in some places and tropical cocktails and live music at others. Whether you want to celebrate in Central Florida with fireworks of in Key West at Sloppy Joe’s, here’s a list of the more popular events.

Central Florida New Year’s Parties

New Year’s Eve 2007 at Universal CityWalk

Universal CityWalk is the place to be on New Year’s Eve 2007. Guests will enjoy live music featuring Foreigner and the B-52s on the main stage and additional entertainment inside participating CityWalk venues. Guests will also enjoy a traditional New Year’s Eve celebration with an unlimited buffet, fireworks and a champagne toast at midnight. Tickets can be purchased in advance online at www.citywalkorlando.com or through CityWalk Guest Services at (407) 224-2690. Guests must be 21 years old to attend the event, and tickets do not include admission to Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure.

New Year’s Eve at SeaWorld

SeaWorld rings in the holiday Dec. 31 with a musical celebration that includes the best in pop, Latin and swing music and dancing. The party begins with Michael Andrew and his 18-piece Atomic Big Band who will keep the crowd dancing. At the stroke of midnight, the night will shine even brighter with vibrant fireworks. (For those who rather end the year with a splash, the park’s attractions and thrill rides will remain open until midnight.)
For more information, guests may visit online www.seaworld.com or call (800) 327-2424.

New Year’s Eve at Disney World

Walt Disney World guests can count down to midnight and ring in 2008 with a dazzling display of entertainment, parades, fireworks and extended hours throughout the Vacation Kingdom on New Year’s Eve. More »
