July 4th Fireworks Celebrations in Florida

Independence Day Fireworks

All across Florida this Fourth of July there will be red rockets a glaring a bombs a bursting with fireworks displays everywhere. Floridians love celebrating Independence Day so much that fireworks dealers have used a loophole in the law where any farmer can buy fireworks to scare wildlife away from their crops. But if you’re looking to play it safe this year and keep the kids away from your Uncle Leonard and other amateur pyro partiers, take a look at these spectacular Florida fireworks shows we’ve discovered.

Orlando and Central Florida Fireworks

Red Hot & Boom in Altamonte Springs - Altamonte Springs invites you to Crane’s Roost Park to celebrate with them as they present their 13th annual Independence Day Celebration Red Hot and Boom . Set to take place Thursday July 3rd from 4:00p.m.- 11:00p.m. this event will feature live entertainment, vendor booth’s, food, drinks and activities for the kids. The Montreal band Simple Plan is slated to headline the event, some other performers scheduled to appear are Kate Voegele, Ryan Cabrea, Kevin Michael, Graham Colton, Mark & James, A-Lure and Ace Young. The event will culminate with a 25 minute fireworks display that will be set to both patriotic and current musical selections.

Fireworks at the Fountain in Lake Eola Park - Fireworks at the Fountain in Lake Eola Park will take place from 4:00p.m. - 10:00p.m. with the fireworks scheduled to begin at 9:15. Join Mayor Buddy Dyer for a night of live music, two bounce houses for the kids and a full motion NASCAR driving simulator. Several local radio stations will be there and you can watch the festivities live on WFTV channel 9 from 9:00p.m - 10:00p.m.

Sanford - The City of Sanford will be having it’s 4th of July celebration from 3:00p.m. - 10:30p.m. at Ft. Mellon Park along the Sanford Riverwalk. “Orleans and Friends” are scheduled to provide live musical entertainment for the event. There will be a fun zone for the kids with food, fun and other vendors. The Fireworks will start over Lake Monroe just after the sun goes down.

Daytona Beach - Daytona Beach parties on the 4th of July with Red, White and Boom this event will take place at Daytona Beach Bandshell and Oceanfront Park. Jeff Gordon, a NASCAR driver will be there and musical group POCO will be performing. There will be simulator rides and games for the kids. Fireworks are scheduled to take place at 9:45p.m. over the Atlantic Ocean behind the Ocean Walk Shoppes.

Kissimmee - Kissimmee boasts the largest 4th of July event in central Florida with approximately 35,000 to 45,000 people expected to attend this year. The event this year will be held at Kissimmee’s Lakefront Park and include many live bands performing country, reggae, swing, and Latino music on several outdoor stages, street performers including mimes, clowns, jugglers and other special characters will be walking around, you’ll even see an Uncle Sam stilt walker. There will be games and activities, food, arts and crafts, and a fireworks display. This event is scheduled to run 5:00p.m - 9:00p.m. on Friday July 4th.

Universal Studios - Universal Studios is planning several events for the 4th of July. The Cineshere show is a high-tech laser and pyrotechnic show featuring four-story-tall, 360 projection ‘cinespheres’ that project scenes from famous Universal Pictures movies.

South Florida Fireworks

Miami - Celebrate America’s Independence with music and an illuminating evening of fireworks at Amelia Earhart Park. The sights and sounds of America will infuse the park at the Miami-Dade Parks Annual Independence Day celebration featuring concerts, food and all of the great park’s amenities including a mountain bike trail, paddle boat rides, and more. The evening will culminate with a spectacular fireworks display.

Fort Lauderdale - Celebrate America’s Independence by attending a free celebration on Fort Lauderdale Beach from 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, July 4, 2008. The festivities will kick off at 1:00 p.m., at Southeast 5th Street and A1A, contests and games for children of all ages, including a water balloon toss and hoola-hoop contest. Cocoa Village - The Brevard Symphony Orchestra is planning a concert at the Cocoa Village Riverfront Park which will start at 7:30 p.m., the concert is free however you will need to bring a lawn chair. Starting at 5:00 p.m. there will be things for the kids to do and some food available for small fees, fireworks will start at 9:15 p.m. and ate scheduled to be over by 10:p.m.

St. Augustine - St. Augustine’s fireworks display will be held at the Castillo de San Marcos over Matanzas Bay at 9:30 p.m.. It is scheduled to last 20 minutes and there will be patriotic music accompanying the display.

Sertoma’s Fourth of July Celebration in Pensacola - In Old Seville will start at 11:00a.m. with with arts, crafts, food vendors and other activities. The Iguanas are scheduled to perform live at 6:30 p.m. and are to be followed by a huge fireworks display at 9:00p.m. over Pensacola Bay.
