Destin Summer Photo Contest

This spring we went to the Panhandle to add more destinations to PlacesAroundFlorida.com. During the trip we took thousands of photos and after sorting through them, the shot above of a Blue Heron on Choctawhatchee Bay in Destin became one of our favorites.
Lucky for me, the Destin Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its annual photo contest beginning August 1 through September 5, 2008.
The Destin Area Summer Photo Contest began in 2006 as an exciting way to promote the beautiful city of Destin through locals’ and tourists’ experiences. The photo contest is divided into three categories, which include family photos, beach photos, and harbor photos, and is open to all amateur photographers.
Some of last year’s photos featured children playing in the sand, families enjoying attractions around Destin, beautiful sunsets, and fishermen unloading the day’s catch along the Destin harbor.
Winners in each category and one overall winner will be selected by the Destin Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and staff. All winners will receive a Destin prize package, filled with goodies from the area, and will be published in the Destin Area Chamber of Commerce’s 2009 membership directory. The contest ends at 11 a.m. on September 5, 2008. Only digital entries will be accepted.
