Late Summer Family Vacation Ideas

August 6th, 2008

Aquatica

Summer break is almost over and you want to take one last trip before the kids head back to school, so what to do? This is Florida, there’s not much you can’t do that doesn’t involve snow. But just in case you’re looking for ideas here’s a few you’ll enjoy.

Water Parks are the first thing that springs to mind, maybe SeaWorld’s new Aquatica featuring Dolphin Plunge; where you plunge 250 feet in clear tubes through a crystal-blue lagoon with black-and-white Commerson’s dolphins. The summer family favorite, Wet ‘n Wild just upgraded THE BLACK HOLE™: The Next Generation. But Orlando is not the only place to get wet, there are many more Florida Water Parks to choose from.

If Camping is more your style, try Jetty Park at Port Canaveral. There are plenty of spots for tent and RV camping, a fishing pier and one of the best family beaches in Florida.

In Northwest Florida, Panama City Beach is a favorite Panhandle Beach as is Grayton Beach. Destin is known for great sport fishing as well as it’s beaches.

St Augustine is a favorite of families and couples. Families can explore the Fort and visit Ripley’s and the Beach. Couples can take a horse drawn carriage ride or visit the Lighthouse.

Have fun
