Beginning at 6:30pm, Bruce Rossmeyer’s Destination Daytona in Ormond Beach, FL, will hold a safety seminar, fashion show, bike contest, raffles, giveaways, live entertainment and the Daytona Harley Davidson Drill Team will perform.

Ponce Inlet, Florida - The 10th Annual Shrimpfest is being held at the Inlet Harbor Marina & Restaurant April 19-20 for the benefit of the Daytona Beach College Culinary Institute. Saturday students will be serving visitors and honing their presentation skills for the competition Sunday evening. Shrimp dishes will be prepared by teams of students and will be judged for taste, presentation and creativity.

Daytona Beach, FL - This year we visited Bruce Rossmeyer’s Destination Daytona during Biketoberfest and it was one of the best events of the year. Destination Daytona is an excellent venue for Biketoberfest and Bike Week. With over 150 acres of space, the location is ideal for all the things a biker would love including bikini contest, live music, beer babes, vendors displays and product demonstrations.
There was plenty of parking for bikes and cars, trams transported visitors from remote parking areas. It was a first class effort with the Volusia County Sheriff Department providing excellent traffic control.

You don’t need to fly to Munich to enjoy Oktoberfest in Florida, Florida loves Oktoberfest as much as Florida loves beer and great German food. Floridians also love a party and there are many taking place.
Oktoberfest is a celebration of beer and food, though the history of Oktoberfest began with the marriage of Prince Ludwig and his bride Therese of Bavaria October 12, 1810. To honor the marriage a parade took place for the first time in 1835. Oktoberfest is now known as the Largest People’s Fair in the World.

Daytona Beach, FL - At the east end of Main Street in Daytona Beach sits a landmark that has stood for 106 Years, the Daytona Beach Pier, also known as the Main Street Pier. The Pier is 1000 feet long, the longest on the east coast and is a great place for getting a bird’s eye view of the coastline and all the hotels along the beach.

In Venice Florida, a golfer came face to face with a hazard at the sixth hole of a Lake Venice Golf Course and was bitten on the left arm by an 11-foot gator.
Near Daytona Beach in Volusia County a dolphin was rescued by SeaWorld in Turnbull Bay.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) will host a bald eagle draft management plan public workshop early next month as bald eagle numbers are improving and the FWC is considering removing them from the state endangered species list.

450 Surfers attent the Southest Surfing Championships in New Symyrna just south of Daytona Beach. From From the competition that wraps up today, surfers can ride into the 2007 Eastern Surfing Championships, known as the Easterns, which could ultimately lead to the USA Surfing Championships.
