Try Boggy Creek Airboat Rides for a Central Florida Wildlife Adventure

May 17th, 2012

By Mike Cooney – Chief Explorer, Cooney World Adventures

It’s a cool morning, and there’s a light mist hovering just above the still waters of Lake Tohopekaliga near Kissimmee. A large turtle pops its head above the water, takes a quick breath and disappears with only a slight ripple to show it was there. Suddenly, a Great Blue Heron glides by and lands gently in the shallow water only a few feet away. Flocks of White Egrets can be seen flying in the distance along with many other Florida water birds. Against the cobalt blue sky an Osprey hovers for a few seconds before plummeting to catch its unsuspecting prey just below the surface of the water. Although this may sound like a description from early in the last century, it is a common occurrence for guests going on Boggy Creek Airboat Rides.

If you’ve not been to the Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens lately, it’s time to visit again and see all the new exhibits the Orlando attraction has to offer. Jack Hanna, the world-famous zoologist and television personality started his career there when it was still called the Sanford Zoo.

Disney Dream

By Mike Cooney – Chief Explorer, Cooney World Adventures

The latest over the top fun-boat to be added to lineup of Port Canaveral cruise ships is the Disney Dream. Although not as big as many of her competitors, she more than makes up for it by offering guests a lot of Disney magic on the high seas. From the moment guests walk aboard, they are immersed in a Disney world full of fun, entertainment and food to excite and tantalize everyone, regardless of age.

Oasis of the Seas

By Mike Cooney – Chief Explorer, Cooney World Adventures

During a recent Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines (RCCL) familiarization tour of the Oasis of the Seas, I had the opportunity to see and experience one of the most magnificent ships in the world. She is a floating city in every way. Here are just a few facts that help prove my assertion . . . on any given seven-day cruise more than 8,000 people call the Oasis home, she has 24 different dining experiences, countless entertainment venues, over a dozen shops and stores, and state-of-the-art water and sanitation systems that are more efficient than most of the land-based versions. The only ship larger by just a few inches is her sister ship Allure of the Seas.
