I walked by this place one evening and saw seats that were outside on the sidewalk but served directly by the bar on the inside. Extra point for the novelty. Decided to circle back on a Friday evening a little on the early side around 5:30 p.m. It was only in the mid 60s and windy but they had the windows to the outside part of the bar open, so it was cold and diminished the dining experience. I like street tacos but can’t say that I am an expert. Got the 5 street tacos meal. They were OK and a good value, but not the best I’ve had. The red sauce served on the side had a lot of heat and good flavor.
After a long week with Hurricane Milton, this was the first hot meal we have had. It was delicious. With Super fast service! Stephen looked in heaven with his dishes and was very happy with the selections. Our server “K” was very attentive and gave very friendly service with a smile. Gonfor the fried ice cream at the end!
When asking the Hotel Concierge for his take on the best Mexican food here in Tampa, without hesitation he mentioned Urban Cantina. So we decided to try it.
As we walked into the front door we were immediately welcomed by the waitstaff and shown to our table.
Our journey began with appetizers. We ordered chips and salsa and carne asada fries. For our main entrees, I decided on having the 3 tacos with rice and beans. I ordered 1 Shrimp, 1 Pork and 1 Steak. All three was uniquely flavored.
My favorite hands down was the shrimp.
The atmosphere was a little loud but what can one expect when any business is pumping :-). This has got to be by far one of the best Mexican eateries that l’ve come across.
Just a side note..if you do like alcohol, try the Margarita. :-).

We stopped here for dinner after going to the River Walk and were immediately seated (part of 6). The drinks and food are absolutely amazing and the staff is super friendly.
Came here with a large group of adults and kids and the service was fantastic. It’s not easy catering to a crowd. The food was standard Mexican 1 tacos, burritos, enchiladas, etc but all were prepared well and yummy. The tacos were excellent – esp the mushroom tacos. The nachos were crispy and gooey from the loaded toppings. The plantains were soft and sweet. The churros were a hit. All the food was reasonably priced and came out quick. Def a good spot to go to for a casual get together
