Small new fenced in playground with swings, slides, and music. Not a lot of shade, no monkey bars, restrooms a little far. Nice view of the water! Good parking, climbing trees, and lots of seating.
Loved, loved, loved paddleboarding these chain of lakes with their beautiful venetian canals that connect each lake. Also so fun to see all the amazing homes along the shore! Super peaceful and absolutely stunningly beautiful. So glad we drove inland from Ormond/Daytona beach one day to do this. Dinky dock is where all the websites tell you to psrk but it has very little parking so try Fort Matiland park if it’s full. So much more parking and a good bathroom there. We paddled from Fort Maitland to Dinky Dock and had planned to paddle back but in the end it was just as easy to deflate our boards and uber back to the car. You MUST have a life jacket available for each person and a whistle! However Dinky dock has a guy that rents out kayaks amd life jackets if you dont have your own.
Newly remodeled! Fantastic little fishing hole. Quiet, close and clean! New picnic area, playground and docks make a great day!
There is a small fenced-in playground with plenty of slides and swings designed for younger kids. There were bathroom facilities close by. The only negative was the rather aggressive ant population. I got bit pushing my kids on the swings and sitting on the benches, so much so that we didn’t stay long.
Although I usually start at Dinky Dock, lake Maitland is a great place to Paddleboard. There many beautiful canals to paddle through that connects the three lakes and smaller ones. On a good day you can see to the bottom in places. Take a paddle to Dog Island to relax and enjoy your day.
