Overall, it wasn’t the most pleasant stay, though I might have just been unlucky.
1. The drainage was clogged, and the shower head didn’t work.
2. There was a water leak, with water coming out from the wall, leaving the carpet wet. We had to wear outdoor shoes inside since the room was too damp.
3. We were told the hotel was fully booked that night and that there was no way they could move us. Had to shower at the hotel gym. We were eventually relocated to a room with a functional shower head and drainage system the second day. Additionally, we were given a $100 credit, which essentially covered the $20 per night parking fee.
4. The hotel room could greatly benefit from an upgrade in sound isolation.
That said, other than these issues, the hotel itself is pretty decent. The staff were friendly, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming. The location was convenient for our needs.
Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay located in the heart of Tampa and close to the airport. It has perfect location and great view of Tampa Bay riverwalk and the Gulf. I did not expect the hotel to have rooms in small houses. If I would choose a hotel in the Tampa Bay area, Grand Hyatt would definitely in the list. The only drawback I can think of is that it is not in the downtown. There are excellent hotels there as well. The unique and beautiful pros of this hotel would be that it is located close to the airport and short driving distance to most places, but not walking distance. All in all, it was a great experience. Staff is friendly, they were nice, restaurant and delivery working in timely manner.
Beautiful hotel. The bay view is stunning. I have stayed here twice and both time, was blessed with gorgeous view.
The only thing that bothered me this time was that I asked specifically NOT to put me near the elevator, which they did. Fortunately, this was not an issue as the noise level was not an issue.
However, this is not the hotel’s fault, but if you, like me, do not like loud noises, stay away from the bar.
Parking is plentiful.
I was hoping that the walking trail was open, but due to storm damage, it was closed. On both visits, I was not able to use the trail.
Breakfast – simple offering, but plentiful.
Room – Clean and comfortable.
I always enjoy staying in Hyatt property and this was no exception. The people working here are very cheerful and friendly and they have great customer service skills.
The room was extremely comfortable and modern without being over the top contemporary. It had the perfect mix of amenities and comfort. Sufficient seating was available. The bed and bedding was perfect. TV was up to date with smart features.
The hotel overall was really spacious and there was plenty to do with gym, sauna and 2 heated pools. The gym was well equipped and quiet. Sauna was really nice although the other person did not shower between workout and sauna and that’s not really acceptable sauna etiquette.
The pools were both awesome. Neither was overly crowded which is great. On the first night we went in the main pool behind the hotel. The second day we went to the Oystercatchers pool which was super nice and they had a ton of pool noodles and floats. Also, the staff handed out free popsicles. The daybeds were really comfortable as well as hammocks and chairs.
We ate breakfast in the restaurant and it was superb. Plenty of options, very fresh and good table service.
The location is convenient to local entertainment, the airport and industry.
Overall I would definitely recommend you stay in the hotel. Very nice place.
