Me and my girlfriend absolutely loved the hotel on our first trip and saw an opportunity to go again and that was the best decision I could’ve made. We checked in with the front desk agent Ysmael who was very welcoming and informative on the hotel and was even kind enough to upgrade us to a nicer room. Everything about the room was perfectly set and we had an amazing view of the city which really made our trip even more special. We got hungry and decided to try the in room dining service and server on the phone Orlando was very kind and gave recommendations on what to try and we were even surprised with a nice hand written note and a complimentary fruit platter. All of these truly made our trip to Tampa memorable and we look forward for the next time we can stay here.
We recently enjoyed a wonderful weekend stay at the JW Marriott Tampa Water Street, and from start to finish it exceeded all our expectations.
The staff truly stood out, creating a seamless and memorable experience for us. Whether at check-in, housekeeping, the restaurants, the spa, or even with the valet attendants, everyone worked together as a team to ensure our stay was exceptional. Their warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail made a lasting impression.
We were especially touched by the thoughtful gesture of chocolates and a thank-you note for using our Marriott points to book the stay. It’s the small, personal touches like these that elevate an already excellent experience to something unforgettable.
One small suggestion for improvement: the towels in the guest rooms could use an upgrade to better match the overall luxury experience.

I have had such a fantastic experience that my girlfriends and I extended our stay! The front lobby was so helpful, especially Diego! He helped us get our room keys fixed when they weren’t working twice! He also informed us of the amenities and everything else at the hotel. I would still recommend this place to anyone who is visiting Tampa. Also, everything is so walkable near this hotel! Housekeeping was amazin!
STAY AT EDITION INSTEAD!
Let me start by saying
1] I’m sure the hotel itself is awesome
2] Yes I know I am what the booking policy says – but I expect a business to be able to take the following situation into account….
2/19/25 – I book 1 nite online (check-in 2/21)
2/20/25 – my kid wakes up sick and with so much leg pain he cannot walk. He gets diagnosed with the flu and has to get blood work done to make sure the leg thing isn’t something really serious. He is 4. I immediately go online and hit the cancel reservation button, it has no reminder that I will be charged – just 2 clicks to cancel
2/21/25 – I see the full 1 night charge (already a ridiculous price at $1,300 but we wanted to be in walking distance to Amalie). I call the hotel and they tell me they cannot credit me anything because this is policy. I ask them to reinstate the room and maybe just myself or just my wife can use it, since we paid for it anyway. Their final, no getting around it answer was that the hotel is fully booked and there’s nothing wrong with me paying $1,300 for the room AND the person actually staying the night in the room paying $1,300 for the same room.
I understand policies. I own a very successful business and have my own policies. I do however treat people like people, assess situations individually and do not allow myself to get double paid for 1 service for no reason other than it’s on paper.
I would highly recommend staying at the Tampa Edition instead of this Marriott. Edition is one of the nicest hotels we’ve ever stayed in, also walking distance to Amalie Arena, and their customer service has always been amazing
Spectacular views of the water and lights of downtown. Nice walking park on the water across the street.
Service is top-notch. Someone selected and trained the people well.
The room was clean and modeled well. The bathroom felt high end. Elevators are a little slow. The TV kept cutting out, which got aggravating at night while unwinding.
Lobby was spacious and situated for segregated seating.
