As a part of the second graduating class at this school, I can confidently say that I am glad I went here. This is a school that focuses on Project Based Learning; meaning you’ll have more projects. Most of these projects end up being presented at an event named STEMFest, which half of the projects have nothing to do with STEM.
The campus itself is modern and simple to navigate. There are two stories, both of which have two wings. The gym is at a separate building that isn’t far away. There’s a PBL Lab that serves as an extra space for classes & meetings, and the food here comes from restaurants like Chick Fil A and Subway.
This is an academically advanced school, with almost half of the student population being enrolled in the AICE Program. The AICE Program is a pathway that helps you earn college credit in high school. As a result, you may get a high GPA from taking many advanced classes. However, there isn’t much to offer in the athletic department. The girls soccer & volleyball teams are some of the best programs to sign up for.
The people at this school are mostly good people; ranging from the students to the teachers. The teachers genuinely care about their students and their progress. However, there can be a lack of efficient communication from the admin, lacking important details sometimes.
Overall, if you’re looking to succeed academically and be in a small school, Patel High School would be an ideal school for you.
