South Tampa Dermatology

I have been seeing Megan Thomas and have had wonderful experiences. I initially went for an annual skin cancer check. She is very thorough compared to my former dermatologist. I was also having an issue with hormonal cystic acne. Megan knew exactly what to prescribe and my acne cleared up in a matter of a few days! I also visited her for Botox. She is very skilled… perfect placement of injection sites and for whatever reason, it seems to take less units there, than med spas I’ve been too (won’t mention any names though). The staff is friendly and appointment times are convenient. Very happy to have found Megan and South Tampa Dermatology!

I am extremely pleased with my inaugural visit to South Tampa Dermatology after being referred there by a physician at a local walk-in clinic. The experience was first rate in every respect. I would like to give particular mention to the professionalism of the staff at this office, from the physician that saw me, Megan Thomas, to the assistant that conducted me to the room where I was seen and asked me some initial questions, to the friendly receptionist with whom I signed in and then paid my co-pay with prior to leaving. Even the quality of the voicemail left by the receptionist in response to the appointment inquiry I had initially made via their website stood out, because it was made with polish and enthusiasm. I can’t say enough about this experience. When staff members conduct themselves professionally and show that they care about the patient experience rather than just going through the motions, it really makes a powerful impression. Thanks and kudos to the folks at South Tampa Dermatology. I will be a patient for life.

I want to start this out by saying that the physician assistant that I see, Dr. Jessica Hage, is awesome. She listens to me and has really helped me with my skin. However, the office is horrible. They are impossible to get a hold of. I leave voicemail after voicemail without getting a call back. For example, I called to ask if they would refill my prescription since it was working for my skin. I called twice and never received a call back. I called my pharmacy to ask them if they received any calls from my doctor and they told me my refill had been approved on Monday and at this point it was Friday. They never called me back to let me know they were approving my refill. This last go around, I left a very frustrated voicemail complaining that their office was nearly impossible to get ahold of and I had someone call me back the next day. I went in for my appt, did my blood work, and again never received a call back saying that I was good for another refill. Called consistently and no one ever answers. Finally, called my pharmacy and once again, they say it had been approved and was ready for pickup since last week. Like I said, my physician assistant is great but the front office staff is so unresponsive and inconsiderate that it really has me looking at switching to another dermatologist.
