I used Florida Main Movers 5 years ago a family owned operated and growing company. I could not say enough about them; service was spectacular and personalized the Packers and the Movers were obviously well trained and knew what they were doing. I recommended them to friends and family who use them and were more than happy. Fast-forward 5 years I was in need for movers again I sought out 3 quotes, including Florida Main Movers. There estimate came in a little bit higher than the other two however, because of my experience with them five years ago, I decided to go with them, big big mistake. It turned out that Florida Main Movers sold a majority of their company to Big Boy Moving and Storage. I was not aware of that, nor was I informed that I was going to be dealing with a different company until moving day.
I was extremely dissatisfied with Big Boy Moving company due to their blatant disregard for my belongings, causing damage to multiple items during the move. I had a two day move day one was for packing day two for moving.
I made it as easy as possible for them, we had 3 closets, 2 bathrooms, and 2 linen closets all packed and at the new house. All the bedding was off the beds and bagged all the artwork was taken down and ready to be packed.
The packers did not pack everything to get it ready for the movers, so things were just thrown in boxes on move day. None of the artwork, lamps, televisions, 2 kitchen cabinets, utensil draw, and guest bathroom were packed.
I paid the moving rate of $210.00 per hour opposed to the packing rate of $160 per hour for them to finish packing. What they did pack they failed to properly pack and secure fragile items, resulting in several broken items. They packed the coffee machine with water in it. None of the lamps were wrapped so they threw them in one big box no paper or padding, and most of them are bent. They boxed the artwork 3 to 4 pieces together without any paper or padding which resulted in broken frames and glass.
Part of what I paid for was for them unwrap and put together the pieces that were taken apart. One bed was not put together properly, and one bed was not put together was missing all the nuts and bolts, so we had to go buy them to put the bed back together.
When the movers were getting ready to leave, I realized several boxes and a few pieces of furniture were still in the garage that needed to be brought in and unwrapped they brought them in, but they did not unwrap them.
They were not careful when carrying items which resulted in damaged walls and doors.
I am missing a full-length mirror; they have no idea where it is.
I was overcharged for materials and asked for a breakdown still waiting.
Before starting, I signed an agreement stating that I was being charged $220 for a fuel surcharge and was then charged $320
I was charged before the movers left the driveway, not even asked how my move went.
On Monday when I contacted the company, they told me they’d send me an email which I received from Micheal Biggs
“I was alerted that you had some issues with your recent move service. Please reply with some basic information so that I can help you through this process.”
I emailed stating my concerns, and it wasn’t basic like they requested; I received an automated message from customer service saying that they receive my email, and they’ll investigate. I gave it five days and called Mr. Biggs and still have not heard from them.
Please, whatever you do not use this company and whoever you do make sure you know who you’re dealing with.

This is the second time we used Florida Main Movers. They are great. We had Mike and Carlos moving us from Wesley Chapel to Spring Hill. They were on time, courteous, friendly and professional.
