Dr. Bou Pediatrics

I have always appreciated Dr. Bou’s expertise and care, but unfortunately, my recent experience with his office staff was deeply disappointing and unprofessional. A couple of days ago, I made an appointment for my son. Shortly after, we received a call regarding the reason for the visit that I had provided online. Without asking any further questions or discussing options with us, the nurse canceled the appointment and ordered us to take him to the emergency room.

When we arrived at the ER, it turned out that nothing serious was wrong. This unnecessary visit could have been avoided if the staff had taken the time to communicate properly. When I called to understand why the appointment was canceled, the nurse sighed dismissively, gave a vague explanation, and ultimately hung up the phone in a rude manner. Sadly, this wasn’t the first time I’ve encountered such behavior from the staff.

I want to emphasize that Dr. Bou is an excellent doctor, and I have no complaints about his care. However, the office staff act as though they are in charge, disregarding professionalism and patient care. When my wife tried to address the issue and file a complaint, instead of receiving any follow-up or resolution, we were sent a letter canceling our account entirely.

This kind of treatment is unacceptable, especially in a pediatric practice where trust and communication are crucial. Dr. Bou deserves better support from his staff, as their actions are tarnishing his reputation. I hope the office takes this feedback seriously and implements changes to ensure patients and families are treated with the respect they deserve.

They were incredibly rude. Unfortunately, we had the misfortune of ever interacting with or seeking services from this facility. Dr. Bou Pediatrics was recommended by friends as a nearby clinic when we first moved into our rental home in Wesley Chapel. Initially, we visited the clinic for a few weeks, but when we went for immunization shots, the process was different from what we had experienced in South Dakota, and the staff was unwilling to assist us. Since our daughter was still very young, we decided to find another clinic.

Because we hadn’t received any services, we requested a refund, as we had paid in advance while waiting for our insurance to be processed. However, they refused to return the money for the services they never provided. Not only that, but they were also rude and ordered us to leave the building simply for asking for a refund. The manager even went so far as to threaten to call the police. Shocked by this response, I called 911 myself to explain the situation and ensure that the information provided was accurate, as I was concerned they might misrepresent the incident.

It was the worst experience imaginable. I had gone there with my wife and infant child, received no service, was denied a refund, and was forced to leave under the threat of police involvement. To protect myself, I made the call first.

I had put this experience behind me until recently when my daughter switched her medical insurance, and Dr. Bou Pediatrics was listed as her primary care provider. My wife scheduled an appointment after a long time, but shortly after, she received a call canceling it. Once again, the staff was rude to her over the phone. In hindsight, I’m relieved they canceled the appointment. We immediately switched her primary care provider back to our preferred doctor.

I strongly advise against this clinic. They show no respect for their clients, patients, or parents. While I can’t speak about the doctors themselves, the management and customer service are absolutely terrible.

We LOVE Dr. Bou Pediatrics! The office is very clean and we never have any issues getting appointments- even same day sick visits. Wait times are always super minimal and everyone is so kind. The woman at the front desk (I need to ask for her name again!) is so sweet and helpful and we usually get the pleasure of working with Nancy, one of the nurses who is a gem! All of my kids see Erika and she’s absolutely wonderful. She’s so great with each of my kids. She goes above and beyond and really makes sure all of our questions and concerns are addressed and I love that she includes my kids in conversations about their care. She’s very knowledgeable and super responsive in the portal if I ever have questions. She also works very well with coordinated care/other doc’s my kids have to see due to various medical issues and she’s always on top of it all. We are so thankful we found this practice!
