At first I was extremely happy with ACS. Tech was good, seemed knowledgeable. Had a warranty issue with a gas heater. Day of the replacement (they were to take existing to shop trade for new and install new) my Plumber arrived 2 hrs before agreed time, never disclosed full price or estimate and when job was done tried to charge me over $1,600 just for labor as water heater was covered under warranty. I was a plumber for 9 years and only didn’t do it myself because of a back injury. But to attempt to charge that much for 4hrs of work 1/2 of which was drive time and draining existing heater is unacceptable.
Brian and the ACS Home Services team consistently provides a great service. They are timely to respond, and consistently offer a detailed, consultative approach to ensure my home services are running as efficiently as possible. Thank you for your transparency, and for all you do!
ACS took advantage of my elderly father who is also a Veteran. They added services to the contract he did not ask for, but Dylan (technician) added it which substantially increased the cost of the overall service. That’s dishonest. Even worse, the services Dylan added, were never performed. That’s fraud and that’s horrible to do that to a senior, or any person for that matter. They charged my father for two valves that were never installed, but made him pay for them. The original valves were operating fine-no reason to change them in the first place. His water supply lines are backwards too. Hot water goes to the cold side of the faucet, and cold to the hot side. Incompetence. They also removed a faucet on top of the sink. The contract specifically says a faucet hole cover will be installed, but it never was. They left the hole open on top of his sink. We had to go to Home Depot and buy one for him to keep the water from going down into his cabinet. I called this company three times asking for a manager, each time I was told to leave a message and they would call me. I never received a call back. The fourth time I called, the customer service rep took my complaint and said he would email it to the correct department. I am still waiting for a response, weeks later. It’s shameful ACS did this to a senior. He’s unable to bend down to have checked the work performed, so he had no idea of the fraud that was committed against him. For those of you reading this review, take your business elsewhere.
I called to schedule service. I took a Picture of where water was leaking from a pipe behind my washer and dryer Carly who I was dealing with received the photo and said this is definitely something that they could fix for me. She said there would be a $49 charge and if I schedule the service, it would be applied to the bill at no time. Did she tell me that they were going to send somebody out to do absolutely nothing except verify what I told them I needed. They had no intention of even trying to fix it and that I had to reschedule to have the work actually done. I was very unhappy about this, but I told him I would go ahead and schedule the service. He asked for half down which I paid half down reluctantly because I’ve never even done that for a plumber, then they schedule me for noon the following day at 9:30 in the morning I get a phone call saying they want all of the money upfront. Well I never would have hired them if they wanted all the money upfront. How do I know they are going to show up and do the work I was wondering if anybody else has had this problem. If I had known everything from the time that I was going to have them come out and look at the problem as far as knowing they weren’t going to fix it they had no intention of fixing anything on the first appointment. I never would have hired them, and I have never paid for everything upfront for a plumbing service.
UPDATE. THEY AGREED TO REFUND MY $149 SINCE I FELT LIKE I WAS MISLED AND APOLOGIZED. HOPEFULLY THY FOLLOW THROUGH. SAID IT TAKES 3 to 5 DAYS
I have one word to describe Tony, “OUTSTANDING”! Tony was the only technician that really took the time to diagnose the problem, while other companies that know you have an older a/c unit just want to automatically replace it and have you spend thousands of dollars. Like people these days have that! Tony was able to find out that my issue was as simple as replacing my thermostat and not that my unit had to be replaced. I will always be grateful to Tony and ACS. This is the first time that I have used ACS, but it isn’t the last, that’s for sure! Keep up the great work and servicing! I also would like to say that the great service just wasn’t at Tony, but also with their scheduling. Overall, great company!
