I picked up a wild rabbit that had been hit by a car and abandoned. Clearly, she had a head injury, was scared and likely in pain. As I nestled her in my arms, I desperately searched for hours by phone for a clinic to euthanize her, only to be transferred, sent to voice mail, or not even picked up. Near the end of closing, Citrus Heights Animal Hospital, answered the call to help this poor animal. They knew that my arrival time would be almost an hour after the end of appointments, but agreed to stay open to receive her. The compassion and professionalism the staff displayed, not only to the bunny, but also to me, was beyond expectation. The Dr. met me in parking lot to thank me for bringing her in. It would not have been possible without the dedication and love the staff displayed. Thank you all.
I have been coming here ever since I was a child, and my mom had ever since she was a teenager. We have brought ferrets, dogs, and birds and always received such great, caring service.
Last year, I adopted my first dog on my own, and of course there was no other vet I’d take her to. Not even two months ago, I brought her in to get her annual vaccines when Dr. Brooks noticed some lumps in her mammary glands. It is something that I probably never would have noticed on my own. He walked us through what it could be, as well as what we would have to do to test them. With the probability of it being cancer, and with my financial situation, I was heartbroken and preparing for the worst, but the entire team handled this situation with so much grace and they were extremely understanding and able to work with us.
All of her diagnostic tests and surgery were done in just a few weeks without any complications. We got her stitches removed yesterday and I am so so thankful for Dr. Brooks and the entire team here. Sticky has been doing so well, and the cancer was caught before it had the chance to progress. I can’t even explain the relief I feel for getting to have more time with my baby. We owe it all to everyone here for catching it and removing it with such swiftness and care. I could not recommend them enough.
Dr. Brooks is so friendly and knowledgeable. It’s nice to have a vet that takes time for you and your pet and answers all your questions with thorough explanations. I feel like he cares about the patients and not just about throwing every test into the mix like some others in the surrounding areas. The staff is friendly and helpful. I recommend them highly.
