After reading local hotel reviews, we decided to spend a little extra for something nice, and we’re so glad we did. Our first impression upon arrival was that the exterior looked a bit dated, but the recently remodeled rooms were a pleasant surprise. The interiors are truly lovely, and the beds are exceptionally comfortable—possibly the most comfortable I’ve ever experienced in a rental. I slept better here than at home!
The hot breakfast was outstanding, exceeding expectations. It included omelets, sausage, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, oatmeal, a variety of juices, coffee, milk, yogurt, muffins, and bagels. The breakfast is served from 6:00 to 9:00 a.m., so an early start is necessary.
It’s evident that management has done an excellent job motivating their staff and hiring individuals who genuinely care about providing a great guest experience.
Excellent location with plenty of shops and food options within walking distance. Customer service at the front desk was awesome, a fellow Tampa Bay Lightning fan welcoming us to the hotel after traveling for the game against the Bruins. Rooms are clean and beds are comfy and there is a mini fridge, microwave, and Keurig in each room. Great price for the value.
This hotel while on the outside appears pleasant, is really just a cheap version of the Days Inn. The beds are not comfortable, none of the staff speaks good English. Housekeeping will knock on your door daily, and if you don’t open it (maybe you’re in the bathroom or getting dressed or sleeping) they will open the door and attempt to walk inside. Management states that they have the right to “knock then enter” your room as needed, which is a total invasion of privacy.
We had our towels taken in the morning by housekeeping and never replaced with new ones on two occasions. Parking is a joke. You will be lucky to get a spot otherwise you have to park out by the road and walk all the way in. Breakfast is a microwaved egg “omelette” with sliced cheese. Or Rock hard biscuits and canned sausage gravy. And you better be there before 7:30 or it’s gone. Overall, if you can pick a different hotel do that! If you’re in a pinch and it’s a last resort, expect to pay top dollar for bottom quality.
Bed is comfortable, location is great, staff is very friendly. You have a desk with chair, a sitting chair, blow dryer, ironing board, coffee maker, little fridge. Price is fair and breakfast is included. There is a pool and apparently work out room.
I like that they have big bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and body lotion because it’s more sustainable.
3 suggestions: a curtain to provide privacy (not just the 1 you close), because you can only get daylight through that window and when it’s open, EVERYONE looks inside.
Room smells a bit dusty, as well as the bed sheets.
A do not disturb/ no cleaning sign. I did not want someone in my room while staying 2 nights and they did come in. This could also spare the hotel cleaning costs.
Worst Hotel Ever – Not Recommended
1. The bedsheets were filthy, with visible stains on both beds.
2. The sink drained extremely slowly. It started pooling water even before I finished brushing my teeth.
3. The curtains were paper-thin, offering no light blockage or privacy, which affected sleep quality.
4. The door had a large gap, causing drafts and offering no soundproofing whatsoever.
5. The room was dimly lit, with no lighting around the fridge and microwave area, making it hard to see when preparing food.
6. No luggage rack was provided, so suitcases had to be left on the floor.
7. The carpet was visibly dirty and hadn’t been cleaned in ages.
8. The front desk didn’t provide water, claiming the dispenser was broken.
I honestly have no idea how this hotel has a 4.2-star rating on Google. At $140 per night, the value is terrible. If I could, I’d give this place 0 stars.
The only redeeming factor was the breakfast. The single staff member managing it did a fantastic job replenishing food, giving guests enough time to enjoy their meal, and promptly cleaning the counters despite working alone. Kudos to him for keeping the breakfast area in order—it’s the sole reason this review has 1 star.
