From the industrial-art deco chic decor to the beautiful dishes to the antique book check holders, every moment at Lamp & Shade Kitchen is punctuated by comfort and style. Our experience here edges out several other Michelin rated restaurants in terms of service, ambiance, and food—both quality and creativity. Every dish we tried was perfectly executed and generously portioned.
We started with mocktails, two hot plates, and two cold plates. Everything came out pretty quickly, and finished plates were also cleared away without sitting long. We had mushroom risotto and skirt steak for entrees, and the portions were so big that we had leftovers (we almost never have leftovers, especially not from small plates-style places). The flavors, preparation, temperature, and plating were all perfect.
We finished with two desserts that were just as good as the rest of the food, which is pretty impressive as many places with fantastic food have mediocre dessert. All of the staff we interacted with, including our waiter, were very kind and made sure we had everything we needed. They pointed out the 20% gratuity and starred it on our check, which was appreciated.
We went early in the evening and were able to get parking spots close by, but it would be definitely worth arriving early if you have a later reservation to make sure you find somewhere to park.
All in all, this restaurant instantly became a top 3 favorite in all of Orlando for us. Can’t wait to go back again soon!
This is my first time here at the restaurant and what an amazing experience! We came for a friend’s birthday and we were absolutely thrilled with the service and the food. This place is great for a tapas style meal with friends or family. They have a section for hot and cold plates , along with a few full meal options with protein and the desserts…….I was absolutely blown away. The Ube cheesecake was probably the best cheesecake that I’ve ever had in my entire life. This place is a must visit and I’ll be back soon. I saw that they have an amazing happy hour and brunch .
Had the deviled eggs app and the heart of palm “crab” cakes. I found the crab cakes to be a little bit too salty but was quite impressed with the texture. The deviled eggs though we’re one of the best appetizers I’ve ever had. I am thoroughly impressed with the uniqueness of the dish – the taste, the presentation, the texture, literally everything about it. My toddler was also entertained by the cornhole outside. Unique atmosphere, beautiful 3D mural outside
Came here for my birthday. The food and atmosphere was great. Our server Phoenix took the time to explain each dish and it’s inspirations along with the drink specials. He made it welcoming and inviting to ask questions and we learned different tequila options from him. The dishes are tapas style.
Lamp and Shade exceeded my expectations. The service alone made the experience memorable. Abnel took excellent care of us and made sure we felt comfortable and had all of our needs met! The food was delicious, fresh, and unique in every way. The seats are comfortable and not made to try to get you in and out. This place has a relax and enjoy your time vibe. I highly recommend the Heart of Palm “Crab Cakes” which tastes like it had crab in it but was all veggies. The deviled eggs were not your average home crafted creations but a more creative spin on it. The Plantain Pancakes were amazing and the King Crab and Grits were out of this world. As soon as the pancakes were placed in front of me I could smell the homemade freshness that transported me back to my childhood. My mocktail was also very tasty and well presented in a grown up cup made for the non drinkers and the coffee was hot and strong. I highly recommended this place.
