Ray rebuilt my 430MEL motor out of a 1965 Lincoln Continental back in 2013. Best engine shop in town. Ray and his staff know what they are doing especially with older cars. They even fabricated a water inlet valve on the intake manifold because mine was corroded. He didn’t even mention it or charge me, he just made it brand new again. 10 years later and it’s still perfect.
I brought my 1995 Z28 LT1 in for a rebuild.
Revised 12/01/23 had to have my car towed home from the shop after the rebuild. It would not stay running after I brought it in. (The car ran and drove into the shop). I’ve replaced the fuel pump, coil, fuel lines tps sensor, iac sensor and a ton of other things all to no avail. My classic Z28 is now a paperweight sitting in my carport because “we don’t know what’s going on” has been their mantra. Go somewhere that knows what they’re doing. I paid over $5,000 for something that sits covered by a car cover that does nothing.
TLDR: Trash. Save your money.
Called the shop and spoke to Ray about doing an engine rebuild for my Subaru Impreza. He told me he does not work on Subaru’s, has never worked on Subaru’s and won’t work on them either. I’m sure this shop would have been a great place considering the past reviews I’ve read to get work done but won’t get the chance to do so now. 2/5 stars for at least answering the phone but was dry over the phone.
EDIT: After reading Ray’s reply, I’ve updated my rating to reflect his effort in reaching out. I’m sorry to read about your loss and best wishes to you and your family. God Bless.
