As a long-time Invited Club Member since 1998 who has experienced numerous prestigious courses, I can confidently say that my first round at Tampa Palms Golf & Country Club ranks among the most memorable. The experience exceeded all expectations from the moment I arrived.
The clubhouse staff and pro shop personnel were nothing short of exceptional. Their attentiveness, professionalism, and genuine warmth made me feel immediately welcome. Unlike some establishments where member status feels like a mere transaction, the team at Tampa Palms treated me with sincere respect and enthusiasm.
The course itself is masterfully designed, offering the perfect balance of challenge and playability. Each hole presents its own unique character with strategic bunkering, thoughtful water hazards, and meticulously maintained fairways. The greens were immaculate—true, fast, and consistent throughout all 18 holes.
What truly distinguishes Tampa Palms is the attention to detail evident across the entire facility. From the pristine practice areas to the well-appointed clubhouse, every aspect reflects a commitment to excellence. The pace of play was managed effectively, allowing for an enjoyable rhythm throughout the round.
For fellow Invited Club Members seeking a premium golf experience in the Tampa area, Tampa Palms Golf & Country Club delivers an exemplary level of service, course conditions, and overall value that stands alongside the finest venues I’ve played in my decades of membership. This hidden gem has earned its place on my must-play list for future visits to the region.
Nice country club, but VERY OUTDATED.
The rooms could use some modern decor.
The food is average.
The gym would be better with new equipment, and the treadmills should be calibrated regularly.
THIS CLUB NEEDS PICKLEBALL COURTS.
I hosted a wedding for my BEST FRIEND LaToya Murdock in January as her Event Planner and this day was suppose to be the best day of her life and for the most part it was because she didn’t know what was going on behind the scenes.
The first issue was I immediately noticed was that the hor d’Oeuvres that was being passed at the cocktail hour was not what we agreed on at the tasting.
The next issue was that they did not provide the proper number of staff for the number of guest that attended (140).
Issue #3 – what was contracted to be provided as the wine selections was not provided to the guest at the cocktail hour.
Issue 4 – the bride and groom paid for additional hours to allow time b/w cocktail hour and reception however, they still rushed the the guest to reception causing chaos with seating.
The staff was VERY RUDE to the guest as well as to other Members who were also guest and when addressed it was “okay we addressed it” but the staff stated they didn’t treat treat the guest no different than any other one else. No we are NOT letting it go. This was suppose to be a happy and joyous occasion for the bride and groom.
The GM attempted to make it right, but was nonchalantly saying this is ALL I can do for ruining your Wedding Day!
I would not recommend this venue for any event if you want a stress free environment.
What I thought was going to be a magical love filled day turned very disappointing and shocking! I guess I had high hopes for this country club!
My husband and I are two of limited Black members to say the less! He’s a golfer and I’m a golf widow! He loves the game! We decided on having our wedding there with about 140 guests! Everything was going well up to the day!! I was not privy to most things that went wrong but I did notice some during the day but my family and coordinator assured me all was well not to upset me. I am glad they did!! I’m so disappointed and angry! Some contractual things were not upheld which the GM attempted to compensate me for but was not nearly what it should’ve been! The event coordinator for the club with his staff rushed the entire day from the ceremony, cocktail hour and the reception!! Was VERY RUDE to many of my guests! They were treated as though they were not supposed to be there and many even a member were told ONLY CLUB MEMBERS can go into certain well opened areas of the club to purchase drinks due to them Only having 1 bartender for my event for 140 folks! I was not aware! My contract said otherwise hence one of the things on the contract not being held. The GM did not properly address my concerns with his rascist condescending staff!! It was brushed under the rug as they do!! I’m livid!!!!!!! They want our $$ but don’t value us!!! My husband is soft spoken and not confrontational at all! I’m the opposite!! Especially if I’m done wrong without reason!! I’m going to let it go for my husband sake; but trust I want everyone to know who they dealing with! It seems to be the NORM in Florida anyways! I thought different of this place, but oh how quickly they tarnished that!! Wishful thinking I suppose!! They might as well put up a sign!!! Anyways, I know they will attempt to diminish or deny these claims! All is absolutely true!!
To add to this bad experience the entire faculty especially the hotel rooms NEED AN UPGRADE!! They are VERY OUTDATED and the carpet on the entire hotel area is dingy and dirty looking with bleach looking spots in several areas. The restrooms in the main club and reception area are outdated with stains/discolorations on toilet seats! I advised the Event Coordinator of this and was told they were doing upgrades before my wedding! Never happened! They did however place a few full mirrors in the bridal suite but that’s it!! Do better OVERALL Tampa Palms!! I gave them a chance and was thoroughly disappointed! Never will I recommend this place to anyone!
I stayed here for a wedding. Two nights. The first night I realized that the heat was not functioning. It was blowing cold air and making the room even colder. When I got to the room it was 65 degrees. Unfortunately for me it was during a cold front. The next day no hot water. I called the front desk around noon to report the water and had already called about the temp. They restarted the boiler and the hot water finally came on. It makes me wonder how the kitchen was functioning with no hot water to wash dishes…. In response to the heat I was told there was a space heater in the closet. However. No CO2 detectors so no thank you please fix the heat. The next night when I got to the room it was 62 degrees. As I returned at 945pm on the second night a room change was offered. Too little too late. I piled all of the covers from both beds on the bed I was sleeping in to at least get a little warmth. The morning temp in the room was 60. I left at 730 am. The service and the communication is just not there and what I would expect for a country club. I would not recommend staying at this hotel unless it is warm out and you only need A/C.
