I’ve been to this theater before and had no issues. But my most recent experience was unreal. I entered the actual theater about 10 minutes prior to showtime, and it was completely dark. I asked the attendant if I was at the correct one, and it was confirmed. After others sat down as well and no movie played, my boyfriend went to the front to inquire about the problem. They had no clue. However, once the issue was resolved and the movie played, the experience improved significantly. I was in a Dolby theater with recliner seating. I reclined back, watched a great movie in a nice cool theater, and loved the rest of the time. Understanding that things do happen, I was appreciative that the problem was quickly resolved, and I was able to enjoy the movie in a comfortable place.
Went and seen Smile 2 (the first one was better might I add). The theatre was very clean. Plenty of bathroom stalls which I appreciate. The curly fries were so good with cheese (which you buy separately). Loved having a slushy alongside ‘em. Good experience. No complaints
As a first-time visitor to this theater, I was taken aback by the seating configuration. The seats were not what I anticipated, and my kids struggled to see the screen. I also had limited visibility of the screen, which detracted from my overall experience. Regrettably, I had to be separated from my children so they could locate a more suitable viewing spot. I’m not coming back to this theater.
The theater’s sound system is disappointing. It lacks sufficient volume, and only the front speakers appear to be working. Having visited multiple AMC theaters, I can confidently say that this one falls short. Furthermore, the bathrooms are not properly maintained. The sinks are filled with water.
Large movie theater complex with a good selection of films and times. Some screens are old and stained, so the film appears blurry rather than clear. It would be great if these screens could be replaced so the quality of the movie can be appreciated. The bathrooms need to be cleaned more frequently.
I have lived in the Brandon area for 14 years and have regularly come to this AMC location (In addition to the Riverview location since COVID when AMC acquired it from GDX). The Regency location is convenient and close to everything. Generally we’ve had a good experience here and just came to see a movie this past weekend in Screen 5.
There is definitely a need for the whole place to have a refresh – things are getting a bit dated as some have commented (seats squeak, seat covers old in places, screens/lighting need updating, carpets etc.). The Dolby screen was created by renovating an existing screen a few years back and that theatre is pretty nice and has reclining seats and great sound/screen).
Generally I’ve found the cinema to be mostly clean, but there are times when the restrooms are in need of a little attention – I know staffing must be an ongoing problem. I think turning every screen into reclining seats would be a good move as I prefer that (and will drive to Riverview as every screen has reclining seats there). So, I split my movie-going between these two locations dependant on movie availability and show times, but if this location could do a reno/refresh I would make this my first choice.
