Awesome trail to experience the real Florida! I hiked here couple years ago and went back today. Great weather for a hike, recommend going during morning or before dusk because gets hot. Saw feral pigs, gators, birds and a snake. Trail has roots so wear good boots and a hat. Bring water and a snack. Great views of St John river.
Beautiful trail!
There are sections of boardwalk going along the St Johns River and lots of tree roots. Be careful of the wildlife, the hogs can get close!
Omg I absolutely loved it. I wanna go with all my friends. I recommend it all the time. So much wild life and it’s actually long.
Always love it here. It’s quite a hike all the way around, so be prepared. But usually some fun animal and plant sightseeing
My favorite trail in central Florida, a deep jungle next to St. john river. There are so much nature and wildlife along the trail, I’ve seen plenty of boars, deers, gators, snakes, turtles and all sorts of birds.
And the trail is a loop, you will never get lost.
