I have always been a fan of Chihuly, I’ve seen a lot of his glass art in magazines and to finally see them in person was amazing.
We were passing through and decided to make a stop, it was a Sunday when we were here, it was not busy and parking in the street was easy. They do have a parking garage.
This is an amazing collection of Dale Chihuly art glass. It may be the largest collection outside of Washington. Definitely worth seeing if you’re in the St. Pete or Central Florida area.
I am not an art expert but I do love a Chihuly exhibit. A few amazing pieces. Wonderful walk through but I could see where parking might be an issue. Definitely would be pricey for a family because there is really nothing else to see.
Go unless you have already seen a Chihuly collection. The exhibit seems small compared to the one 10 or so years ago at the fine arts museum. In addition the entrance fee is steep a half hour visit unless you go to the glass blowing across the street.
This Collection pays tribute to and highlights the innovation of Dale Chihuly. The museum was housed in a smaller area until 2021, and this venue is a great improvement. The glass pieces are large and small. The depictions are abstract creations and realistic presentations of plant life and baskets. The timeline at the entrance offers a great snapshot of Chihuly with pictures and adequate explanation of his process and development.
Enjoy the movie about Chihuly.
The museum also highlights another artist, in this case, Akiko Kotani in the exhibit BURST.
Great gift shop with Chihuly souvenirs and works by other local artisans.
Wheel chair access entry and movement throughout the venue.
Wheel chair access parking on street pay by app and some free spaces on side streets with 2 hour time limit.
