Came here for the valentine’s day experience. This was by far the worst food i have ever had in Tampa. I had better quality food in Soho at a food truck stop at 3am. The total cost of the meal was nearing $400, and i’m not sure why. The salad was 3 pieces of lettuce, the soup was a cup that was cold, and the steak dish that you see is 4 pieces of steak for 2 people to share (priced at $265). The dessert was one scoop of ice cream. Not to mention we waited for 30 minutes to be seated when we were on time for our reservation. Would not recommend coming here for a special occasion. The drink was good so at least the bartenders know what they’re doing.
We celebrated Valentine’s Day a week late (initially had reservations at a different spot that were unfortunately cancelled). We were able to make a last minute reservation for 2 at Flor Fina. The ambience was neat with a cool blown glass sculpture, the lighting but dark (wasn’t a concern for us but for others to be aware if that’s an issue for you). We tried several items including the Brussels sprites, cabbage, one of the pasta tapas, seasonal Lions Mane mushrooms, and farmers pie (kind of like a vegetarian Shepards pie which was delicious).
This is a beautiful space and well managed. We had a few drinks and apps but didn’t stay long. Next time we’ll update with some food photos. As a first time guest and in general being walked to a table by a hostess is pretty much expected. Pointing to an area to sit isn’t hospitality. The manager was made aware and he was apologetic then the waitress bought us a drink. Good service recovery! See you next time. Good spot – go here.
The night we went there was a wedding reception in the garden…. looked absolutely beautiful for them, but for those of us here to enjoy a quiet evening out, it was loud, especially as they were moved to the banquet room. The food and drinks were delish. They charge for bread and it seemed like yesterday’s batch. The esthetic was 9/10, bathrooms were clean.
I dined here both nights I stayed at Hotel Haya. On night one, I did tapas and cocktails at the bar. The Dos Agaves cocktail was exquisite—balanced, smoky, herbaceous. On night two, Mikey was my server. He was so attentive and nice! I felt very welcomed. I got the She Crab & Coconut Soup (think: upscale chowder), bread basket (the butter!!!), and patatas bravas. While the last was listed as a tapa, it’s definitely shareable. You could easily split that among two people. Thanks Mikey and Flor Fina!
