I have had the best experience with Grady Elementary. The staff is beyond helpful, and caring. My son is autistic and he was under the best care. I was tempted to travel from Brooksville, FL to keep him in this school. Keep up the great work guys!!!
Don’t have a problem with the school at all. I give 3 stars due to policy. Not sure if its the state, school, or city. School staff indicated it was due to the amount of kids at reading camp. Very small group, but if a kid has lice and has been going to school, I as a parent would want to know. Apparently, privacy issues restrict the school from notifying other parents. The way I see it. Someone gets embarrassed or their feelings hurt, so the school isn’t allowed to send a notice home to parents. Im trying to wrap that around my brain, because how do we (as parents) prevent and stop it, if we are unaware. Here is how it happened in my household. One kid complains of an itchy head. Well, due to the busy summer, I didn’t recall him washing his hair enough, so I told him to wash his hair with my shampoo. About 5 days go by and no complaining, I notice my head is itchy. I talk to the wife and she indicated hers has been itchy also. She also said the other 2 kids have been scratching their head. Immediately, I did some research last night, then inspected this morning. Sure enough, lice on all 3 boys. So is this the way we find out? Because we just moved here. We were considering all kinds of other things…like the water, as it has been known to cause itching. I have never had lice. Maybe its the first thing Floridans look for. As for me, it was not. I, as a parent would prefer notification of a “lice incident,” over hurting some snowflakes feelings. After all, awareness is how this little bug is prevented.
Wonderful school. The teachers and administrative staff are all first-class and will go the extra mile to ensure student success. Thank you Grady!
Very fond memories here all though I attended in the early to mid eighties. Will never forget that school!
Friendly staff and respectable teachers. Love the security of the gates on the two sides of the office.
