Hotel is in good condition, and had decent nights’ sleep. Breakfast was OK…on our second day they ran out of some items and took a while to get them replenished. Nice lobby and pool area. Fast food restauarants in the area, but not much else. WaWa in parking lot for essential items, and I went a few miles in each direction from the hotel on my runs, but wouldn’t recommend just strolling in the area. Homeless people were camped out behind the WaWa, and in a few other areas nearby. We got a Lyft to get dinner downtown and it was pretty easy and reasonable.
We used the cruiseport shuttle, and were the only people on our ride going on our ship, with the other 6 people on a different ship. We were the second stop, and I had a bad feeling when the other people got off to get on their ship. I got out just in time to see the driver give our bags to the porter, who was getting ready to put them on the wrong ship. I rescued them, and they made it to our ship….after we stopped in-between to pick up a grop of about 8 who had been waiting an hour and a half to go back to the hotel. They were not at all happy!
We stayed here for a soccer tournament- which was convenient because it was only about 15 minutes away. However, this is a TERRIBLE neighborhood especially if you are staying with children. I found a baggie of drugs in the bathroom next to the pool, hotel staff was prompt in removing it-like they have done it many times before. Spoke to the manager the next day and he apologized but said there was nothing he can do considering the neighborhood. Not sure that, that was the right response.
Breakfast was terrible. No waffle maker. And the pancake maker was broken for two of our three days. The night staff was very friendly and helpful but the day staff could use some customer service training.
I checked out early and I am staying in another hotel on the beach for less than what this place charges.
We just spent one night before our cruise at this holiday inn and the service and friendliness of the staff is outstanding. Especially Samira and Diane were so great! Thank you for making our stay great!
This is my review as a mother of two young children. I would not stay here if you have young children. The area isn’t the best. There’s homeless people everywhere asking for change or cigarettes. Bright side the cops are there every night. So if you do get back after dark at least the police are nearby.
Rooms are not soundproof. We had a room near the elevator and we heard everything (guest partying). Room is small we had a two beds (full) and a crib) there was barely room to move. Mini fridge barely work. Thermostat is set to base temp. So some nights it was freezing and other nights it was so hot. We never adjusted temp. Tv has basic channels.
Breakfast is edible. Just a basic buffet… eggs, bacon, sausage, bread, bagel, one kind of mini muffin and cinnamon, they do have a pancake maker but the bag is usually empty they change on the hour.
For the price try a different location. There were nicer better location hotels up the road.
Perfect location for getting to cruise terminal. It was clean, the room was spacious, the front desk staff were awesome, and right next to a Wawa.
