Very clean with great atmosphere and service! The food was so tasty! I ordered the ox tails and rice (1st time trying them) with peas and collard greens, and my wife had the fried chicken (hot/honey) with mac&cheese and peas. It was all so good!
I stopped by one Sunday to eat after not visiting for a while. The last time I went to Mr. B’s was a couple years ago and it was not too good. They were short staffed all the way around, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt and said I would come back to give them another shot.
When I went this past weekend, I couldn’t believe the experience.
1. It took at least 10 minutes for the server to come after I was seated.
2. There were kids literally running around the restaurant being super disturbing. Not sure whether to blame the parents or the establishment for not saying anything to the parents. Flabbergasting.
3. The cornbread that came with the meal looked old and messed over. It was delivered to my table with fork holes in it. Either that’s how they check to make sure it’s done or…
4. Oxtails were too salty and the blackeye peas didn’t have enough seasoning. It was hit or miss in terms of what items on your plate would be seasoned.
5. When I go to a restaurant, the last thing I want to see is someone’s ASS while I’m trying to eat. This is supposed to be a family establishment and you got this guy sitting in the middle of the restaurant eating with his pants damn near off. Disgusting and infuriating.
After all of this, I know I won’t be back. I can only speak for myself and towards my experiences. See for yourself.
Our team had our 1st holiday party at this amazing and phenomenal soul food restaurant. Our host(s) and waitress took care of us very well. Our waitress was very attentive, she removed plates, removed glasses and brought new glasses, kept our sweet tea and water and coffee fresh and filled at all times. The atmosphere was remarkable. It was so quiet and peaceful, and the room was filled with warm, loving conversations from our ministry team. To add, the food, was off the chain, tenders, mac & cheese and the salad was stand out for me. It was fresh, you can tell the cooks poured their heart and soul into our holiday meal. I just can’t say enough about our fellowship with the ministry team. It was awesome! On a scale of one through 10 this establishment will get a 10+.
An amazing soul food restaurant. The food is delicious, the presentation sophisticated and a welcoming atmosphere. I ordered the fish and grits and really enjoyed it. It had a great blend of flavors that complimented each other perfectly. Robin got the smothered pork chop and it was equally as good. Add to it fresh cornbread muffins and fried Green Tomatoes and it was a great meal. The service was friendly and attentive as well as the entire staff.
Lunch for some southern food. Lovely decore, staff was very attentive and friendly! We also got some yummy peach cobbler home for dessert and more corn bread.
