Pediatric Associates Riverview

This is the worst pediatric office I have ever been too. I have had nothing but problems since we moved here and started going to them. First of all, the o ly provider that o have interacted with that had good bedside manner was Amanda Garcia. Who is a P.A I believe. My son has been diagnosed with ADHD for a year. I needed a prescription refill and was told only a MD could do it. So I waited for 3 weeks for the appointment. Rescheduled it from the morning to the afternoon and when we got there was told the appointment was made with another P.A and only a MD could do it after I had scheduled it with one. So we had to leave. Made an appointment for today (the day after) and was told when we got there by the MD that eventhough he has already been diagnosed (I brought the records with me) I would have to redo the assessment, come back and have a talk about the medication (that he has been on for a year) and then come back and she would refill the medication. So I have to redo everything for a diagnosis he already has and have a medication talk about medication that he has been on for a year ? That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard ! So we made a second 30 minute drive for nothing. Then she asks me if I want to cancel the visit (Dr Baldwin). I’m like this visit ? She said yes. I asked what was the point of me continuing with her when she was not going to give him his medicine anyways. Now he’s almost out. Now I have to find a new doctor. Thanks for nothing Pediatrics’s associates.

My son’s appointment was at 4:10 PM. We showed up a few minutes early and did not see the physician until 5:35 PM. This is not the first time that we’ve come for an appointment and had to wait over an hour and half to see the provider. When we walked into the office, it was very very full. It is clear that patients are booked very close together not allowing the physician to spend Quality time with the patient. It is not fair to jam pack the schedule because if there is one hiccup, it’s going throw the whole schedule off. Not fair to the doctor or the patient. I do not plan on returning ever again to pediatric Associates after seven years with the practice. We all have lives and things to do and to expect a patient and their parents to wait over an hour and a half to be seen is Disrespectful to our time. Really hope this gets sorted out so it doesn’t Keep happening, as I was watching parents rescheduled because they couldn’t wait any longer for the doctor. Sadly, they’re rescheduling only to have to wait just as long the next time. Don’t lose touch keep it patient physician centered. I would also recommend reminding the staff while at the nurses station to be mindful of their volume and what topics they’re openly and loudly discussing. Clearly, being able to hear the staff talking about ICE coming after children and their families is probably not something someone wants to overhear at a pediatricians office. Thank you for the care you have given my family over the last seven years we will be finding a smaller practice that is more in touch with their patients
