Samaria seems like a fairly hidden gem for a solid diner-type breakfast in downtown Tampa.
To my shock, there aren’t a ton of spots nearby of this nature despite there being plenty of cafes and food trucks. Sometimes, you just want a solid’ breakfast…without the need for bottomless drinks and vibes. If that’s what you need, Samaria can be one or your go-to spots.
I opted for a 3-egg omelet with spinach, onions, mushrooms, and feta with breakfast potatoes and what was *supposed* to be a small side of blueberry pancakes. The eggs were great – a little overcooked but still good. The potatoes were cooked to perfection but needed a little more salt. Again, still good. And the pancakes were solid – not amazing but absolutely solid and bigger than I thought they’d be.
Service was great. They forgot my pancakes at first, but my server quickly and graciously corrected the mistake.
Overall, if you want a basic diner breakfast, I’d recommend Samaria.
Came here with a couple friends for Sunday brunch and we were seated quickly. The service was good and the prices were decent, but the food was just okay. I got the California eggs Benedict with a side of hasbrowns and both eggs were over cooked (medium well) and the meal itself didn’t have much flavor. It was good with some salt and pepper added (and a dash of hot sauce) but overall the experience was underwhelming. I can’t say I’d circle back here.
Came for brunch with my daughter. There was no waiting. Waitress was friendly and fast. Dishes were good. Same as drinks. Not a luxurious place. More like relaxed and for locals, families. We had a nice brunch here while visiting town
Just had one of the best breakfasts in a long time! Sam, our server, was so sweet and attentive. He made sure our coffee cups were filled and checked in on us often. Now let’s get to the food. We had the cheesesteak sandwich which was absolutely delicious with fresh bread and oozing yummy cheese – the fries were cooked perfectly. We also had a veggie omelet that was cooked to perfection and was delicious!! Coffee was excellent and so were the mimosas. If you’re looking for a wonderful breakfast experience, definitely visit Samaria Cafe!!
We went there for Mother’s Day Brunch and luckily we made reservations ahead of time so we got in quickly when we came in. The place was packed! Coffee was NOT GOOD so I wouldn’t recommend it, but we ordered chocolate chip pancakes which were delicious, and a few other dishes. It took a while until the food got to us but that is probably because of Mother’s Day. Erik was our server and he was awesome!
