The food was absolutely fantastic. I give it 10/10 and I can be picky. We aren’t from the area but if I was I would prob eat here monthly. The honey fried chicken was bomb and so was the jerk chicken. Mac and cheese, collards, sweet plantains were fantastic. When I come back to Orlando I will come here.
The sweet tea is not what I’m used to but after drinking it, it started growing on me. I’m used to traditional style southern sweet tea. This tea had a berry flavor to it.
The pineapple lemonade was really good too and I’m not normally a juice person.
It was not the biggest place in the world, but from the moment I walked in. I was greeted with warmth and sincerity. I needed a minute to look over the menu. And I was guided by the gentleman behind the counter. Ss far as the food goes. It was absolutely amazing and I mean the simple stuff like the honey fried chicken was seasoned and fried to perfection, the sides make me feel like my grandmother was still alive and I was at her house eating. The Rasta pasta with shrimp had just the right amount of spice, and the Lemonade made sure everything went down nice.. I would definitely recommend this to anyone in the Orlando area.
I ordered the Smothered turkey legs with yellow rice, macaroni and cheese, and potato salad. And an order of the Honey Fried Chicken leg quarter. Let me begin by saying the honey Fried leg quarter is absolutely delicious! It was delivered and still crispy and delicious when it arrived. I see why it’s a customer favorite. The chopped up turkey leg seasoning was on point, but it had so many small flat bones, it was hard to enjoy it. It messed up the consistency over the rice. A tip would be to shift to turkey wings if that’s a possibility. I enjoyed the macaroni and cheese, but not so much the potato salad. It’s like an ingredient or something is missing. Overall I would order again, the honey fried chicken is so good and a reasonable price.
Literally, the only soul food I would eat in Orlando. I’m a very picky eater and the mac & cheese is immaculate!!. I love their fried catfish. My first time trying catfish was from them and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. every time I order whether it’s delivery or pick up, everything is fresh and hot and seasoned to perfection. Hot honey Chicken wings was delicious as well
Hands down some of the best damn food I’ve had in central Florida. It’s flavor over glam! They hit the mark on all checklists of restauranteurs.
