Sugar Factory-Orlando….love the atmosphere, it’s cute and trendy. The service is good though, our server, bless her heart, she had to be the one to deliver the bad news about not having the items that we wanted. We’re starving so we weren’t very happy and our faces said it all, but she handled it all with grace.
However….the place could use a little more TLC. The tables are wobbly and as you see, the white walls need some fresh paint.
We’re here now waiting on our food and we’re a little disappointed. I tried ordering the salmon and was told that it isn’t prepped yet. It’s the middle of the day, they opened at 10 and it’s 1. Next was the spinach artichoke dip, didn’t have that or the rainbow pancakes.
As you can see the Sampler Platter was a hit, it was demolished in 3 minutes.
Youngest ordered the sweetheart pancakes and she loved them because they were pure sugar. I tasted them and my only suggestion is for them not to use so much red dye in the batter ( I’m a baker) the dye makes them a little bitter with an aftertaste.
Our omelette’s were runny inside, the manager apologized and had them remade immediately; great customer service.
Overall, my kids aged 9 and 21 loved it because the food presentation and atmosphere is geared more towards them. The more mature palettes were a little underwhelmed. I’d still bring a young crowd here for another try or maybe try the one closer to home in Houston.
I came here five days ago to celebrate my birthday. I had never been to Sugar Factory before but it looked awesome so my friend and I went. We had a reservation but went early just to see if we could be seated early. The restaurant was super accommodating to that which we appreciated. The restaurant was beautiful. The food and drinks were really good, and the staff was super nice, however the music was too loud and very sexually explicit which made the atmosphere less pleasant. There were a lot of kids in the restaurant, too, which made the choice of music even more distasteful to me. It took half an hour to just get our drinks, and we sat twiddling our thumbs looking around for our waiter while we were waiting to order dessert. We saw him a couple of times standing around talking to other coworkers. When our waiter finally came back, we went ahead and asked for the check the same time we ordered dessert because we didn’t want to be stuck waiting any longer. We both got milkshakes for dessert which were delicious, but so big we couldn’t finish them so we asked for to-go cups. The manager came and gave us massive plastic storage containers that looked like they were used for stocking purposes without lids, dripping wet like they had just been washed, and told us that was all they had. Again, everyone was super nice, but the disorganization, atmosphere, and what felt like a lack of care from our waiter was kind of a bummer, especially with how much everything cost.
Patrick was phenomenal. He was quick on his feet, kept the table smiling and gave excellent customer service. We had a big group and he made sure that everyone’s needs were taken care of and that we all left happy and satisfied.
Today, my family and I had the opportunity to visit The Sugarfactory for the first time. My daughter chose this place to have her seven year old birthday dinner.
First, as soon as we walked in, we were informed by the hostest that they were completely booked and had no more availability. After we walked away from the service desk, we checked online and was able to secure a reservation for 7 pm via open table. Upon returning at 7pm, we were checked in but weren’t seated until approximately 8:07. While waiting, we stood in the candy factory where we witnessed one of the waitresses drop a piece of the cookie from their cookie shake onto the dirty countertop. Immediately after dropping the cookie without hesitation, she quickly picked it up and placed it back on top of the shake. (It should be noted that the same counter was touched by multiple servers and guests in the immediate area.) We also noticed that the shevles in the candy factory were scarce.
When I went to use the mens restroom, I noticed that the sign on the door had been torn off. Upon
entering the restroom, I noticed their lack of care and cleanliness. See pictures for further.
When our food finally came out, it was relatively quick. We ordered the sampler for $30, rainbow sliders $27, loaded buffalo fries $22, and penne Alfredo $20. To be completely honest, we were displeased by the quality and taste of all the food. Sampler 1/10: Their housemade chicken tenders were extremely salty. The onion rings were also prepared in the same or similar salty batter and greasy. The wings were large and chewy. The fried mac and cheese pops were oily and lacked flavor. Sliders 3/10: These were decent with the burger sauce on them. The only issue with them was that the dye used to colorize the buns made your mouth/lips/teeth colorful. Loaded fries 2/10: The fries were topped with cheese sauce, green onions, ranch, and chopped buffalo chicken. The issue here was that this contained the same salty housemade chicken tenders. Alferdo 2/10: The Alfredo sauce lacked flavor and had a watery consistency. The noodles were on the drier side. See pictures
I also ordered a butterfinger milkshake but immediately found out that the flavors were subpar. The ice cream quality seems to be the problem with this item. I did not enjoy this and requested it to be returned after two sips 1/10.
Our overall experience here was a huge letdown 3/10. I would not recommend this restaurant to everyone seeking good ,flavorful, quality food. This restaurant is all atmosphere and hype! These three points are being awarded based on the exquisite desserts, energy of staff during the celebrations, and the overall atmosphere.
This visit was a very special one for me. My husband brought me here to celebrate our anniversary. We were warmly welcomed by Kayle, who escorted us to our table. The entire staff provided exceptional customer service. Kayle was incredibly patient, taking the time to explain the menu and help us select some truly amazing dishes. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Kayle even noticed a mistake in our order and promptly corrected it. The drinks were fantastic, and to top it off, I was delighted to receive a full cup of candy that truly made my day. If given the chance, I would definitely love to return.
