I was born in Abilene TX, lived in Austin. I’m picky about my bbq haha. We have lived here a little over 6 years and have been searching for a solid bbq spot. What a find The Brisket Shoppe is! We shared the 2 meats and 2 sides—brisket, pulled pork, mac & cheese, and cowboy bbq beans. The brisket was tender and delicious as was the pork. We enjoyed the mac and cheese and the beans were just okay for me however my husband and son really enjoyed them. I admit, I was definitely missing some TX toast with our plate. The brisket bon bon was tasty and was a nice fill-in but still missed the toast:). Not a deal breaker. Plenty of outdoor seating for our great weather and a bar out back near the smoke pits. I really loved the atmosphere. The owner Danny was so nice and took some time to chat with us. Can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu.
I recently had the absolute pleasure of visiting The Brisket Shoppe, and let me just say — barbecue dreams do come true. As someone who’s spent over a decade traveling the U.S. weekly, tasting barbecue from coast to coast, I feel confident saying this: The Brisket Shoppe is in a league of its own.
Every bite was perfection. The brisket? There are no words. Tender, juicy, and smoky with just the right bark — it’s the kind of brisket that leaves you in awe, savoring every mouthful. The ribs were another masterpiece: fall-off-the-bone tender with a caramelized glaze that struck the perfect balance between sweet and savory, complemented by a subtle smoky finish that lingered just long enough to make you crave the next bite.
The sides completed the experience. The macaroni and cheese was creamy and rich, with a golden, cheesy crust that added a delightful crunch, while the coleslaw brought a refreshing tang and crispness that tied everything together beautifully.
This is barbecue elevated to an art form. If you love good food, make the trip — it’s worth it.
By far the best BBQ in the Tampa area! We arrived around 11am Saturday and waited in the line outside but were seated and had our food by 1145. Atmosphere was clean, the food immaculate, and the price was fair for the quantity of food. We ordered 2 meats and 2 sides combo and 1 meat and 2 sides. The ribs were flavorful, not fatty, and crispy on the edges. The Cuban rice and beans were tasty and the side of beans were incredibly flavorful. The service was friendly and attentive. The only downside is the parking lot fills up quickly so don’t be surprised to find a parking spot on the street nearby.
Finally checked out The Brisket Shoppe and it exceeds the hype! Duck Confit stole the show! Crispy skin topped with a delicious cherry glaze, super moist and flavorful inside. Brisket was superb as was the Texas Hot Links sausage. Hands down, the BEST BBQ in Tampa Bay!
THE BRISKET SHOPPE: A MEAT HEAVEN
You have not lived until you bathed in the smoky, glistening tallow-rendered ambrosia of The Brisket Shoppe.
This is not a “barbecue joint.” This is a temple—a shrine to the sacred cow. Where the fire kisses flesh with reverence. Where the pitmasters are wizards wielding their tongs as wands, casting spells of smoke, salt, and succulence.
The brisket? Transcendent. A bite into the impossibly tender, bark-crusted masterpiece that sent me into a fugue state. I felt like Issac Newton seeing an apple fall.
The Sides? It would feel like an insult to call them “sides.” From the collard greens, to the tallow fries, to the power slaw and the plantains. They whispered the secrets of the Universe to me. The mac & cheese is pure seduction with a creamy decadence, I can no longer type for fear of being censored.
The staff, they’re not staff. They are family welcoming you into their home. They do not merely serve, they bestow upon you a divine gift.
The Brisket Shoppe is not merely just a meal. It is a sovereign journey into the next evolution of your new life.
