The food here was fantastic. I got the Great Lakes Fish and Chips; it’s perch and fried to perfection.
They make pies daily, and even though I ordered apple pie, I never got the chance to eat it. But it looked delicious and smelled amazing.
The service here was slow, unfortunately. Our server was a great person, but it seemed like she forgot about us a lot and made us crunch for time in our vacation as a result.
The venue has cute paintings and a lot of fan fave props and things around to spark conversations at the table.
Overall, I would recommend if you’re in the area. Not too pricey, and great quality.
The Pearl was an excellent culinary experience. Perfect for our organizations lunch, the atmosphere is very polished and professional. The artful presentations were excellent, and chef Olivia does an excellent job as the executive chef. The flavors of my steak were delightful, and cooked rare, was a beautiful purple color I was not expecting to be so fresh from a seafood restaurant! I appreciated the pacing of the service and a wonderful window spot we could people watch Water St. Overall I highly recommend The Pearl!
Was wanting to love this place and other than the really nice ambiance and environment, that’s about the best of it.
Service and drink speed was really slow. It was a Sunday, 5pm, shouldn’t really be disconnected with staffing and events at Amelia Arena. The schedule is posted; staff to it?
Cornbread appetizer was good.
Feedback from the guests in my latest. Ordered the steak, salmon, sea scallops, and Cesar salad. Steak was over cooked and the broccoli was undercooked and hard. Salmon was bland but cooked properly. Sea scallops were good with good sauce. Salad was a nice size and tasted good.
Below is my honest review of the Pearl Tampa. I will list it as pros and cons because there are both.
Pros:
1. Burger Quality: The pub burger, though lacking garnishes by default, was well-cooked and tasted great.
2. Fresh Oysters: Despite the high price, the oysters were fresh and enjoyable.
3. Desserts: The Mississippi mud pie and peaches and cream pie were standout dishes, highly recommended.
4. Accommodating Staff: They provided the requested garnishes for the burger without additional charges.
Cons:
1. Burger Garnishes: It’s unusual for an $18 burger to not include basics like lettuce, tomato, or onion by default.
2. Waiter’s Knowledge: A lack of familiarity with the oysters’ flavors detracts from the experience, especially in a restaurant specializing in oysters.
3. Price vs. Experience: For over $200, the overall service and attention to detail might not have aligned with the cost.
Feedback Suggestions:
Menu Transparency: If the burger is served minimalist by design, the menu could make that clear to set expectations.
Staff Training: Waitstaff should be well-informed about the menu, especially for specialty items like oysters, even if they don’t personally consume them.
Value Alignment: While great food can justify higher prices, the overall dining experience (service, ambiance, presentation) should feel equally premium.
