ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!!
*Beware that they “hold” $125 on top of your room fee. And they say NOTHING about it until you go to check in.* I spoke with multiple people leading up to my trip to make sure everything was good to go. No one EVER mentioned the “hold.” I mobile checked in and spoke with two people to make sure I didn’t mess anything up. Again, never mentioned there being a $125 hold. (For budgeting purposes this is vital information) It is not disclosed ANYWHERE on the website, while booking the room, it was not anywhere on my charges, it was not listed on the confirmation, it was not disclosed anywhere. I even had them try to show me where it was listed because they acted as if I should have known. While yes, I completely expected there to be an incidental charge or hold. I did not expect it to be $125. Again, that should be disclose in the confirmation email or on the reservation breakdown.
The hotel is old and can 100% use a renovation. The first room we were put in wouldn’t even open (you could hear it unlock but the handle wouldn’t move.) so we had to go back down and get placed in a different room.
The room: the pillows were the FLATTEST pillows I’ve EVER had in a hotel. The sheets don’t fit the beds. The floor was stained and sticky.
*There is no air circulation because the vent is on the wall by the window and blows to the far wall. There is nothing to circulate the air in the room.
The outlets… 1. They’re barely existent. 2. If you find one it either doesn’t work, or the charger falls out of the wall constantly.
I will never stay here again, I DO NOT recommend it. Spend your money elsewhere. This hotel was NOT worth the money paid at all.
Shower does not stay on, hardware looks like it needs to be replaced along with hardware around entire bathroom. Pulled the tab for water to go to the shower head and after 5 secs it goes back to the bottom. Only stayed for 1 night so wasn’t worth it to move to another room. I complained to front desk about it starting to smell like cigarettes and didn’t get a follow up. Sent another message that the other rooms are very loud and it’s 11pm. Sounds like they’re having a party on a Monday night. No follow up from hotel. lf you get a “courtyard view” room, it’s a view of the offices across… so sucks and you didn’t get any sunlight.
Bed was comfortable and located by a lot of food options.
The late night managers are a joke and it shows why this place had last minute availability when there wasn’t any else where. The room was very hot and i went down finally at 1 am to see if there’s anything they could do or bring a fan. The response i got from the employee “ We don’t have a engineer in your room” “ i don’t know what you want me to do”. There may have been nothing you could have done but insulting a customer who was paid over $300 who just wants to not sleep drenched in sweat. One positive i can say is the valet guys are great and professional.
I hosted several events at the hotel and will say that Stephanie was the most amazing staff I have ever worked with. Her attention to detail is awesome and is the sweetest person whenever I asked for anything. I will continue to host my events here as long as she’s there! Thanks Stephanie!
Westshore Grand has been an elegant hotel and has those qualities. Some reviews destroy this place and some love it. My story is in between. The front desk check in was good and mostly friendly. Some staff gave the busy vibe. In terms of great customer relations Robin in the hotel restaurant is excellent. She hustles and is friendly with conversation. The buffet breakfast is $25 but we got it complimentary due to platinum status. The food is excellent and fresh, from the fruit, eggs, omelet, pastries and so forth.
The fitness room looks good but the cardio machines can use some service. The TV’s in the machines are erratic in which stations work. The treadmills and bikes are loud which indicates service is needed. The room is clean. The lobby, bar and adjacent areas are clean and very presentable. Our was clean, just a bit dated. Overall some things are great and some are okay.
