I enjoyed my time here. It may not have as many frills with the facility but it was clean! Paola, the attendant of the spa at the time I was there was so attentive and kind! Tomoku, my massage therapist has truly magic hands. I only got the lower body massage(I forgot the name), with the face mask and scalp treatment but I was SO RELAXED and my feet felt like new! Pressure, atmosphere, everything was perfect!
If I stay at the Waldorf again in Orlando I would be sure to go for another treatment! Maybe one of those body treatments they have!
I visited the spa during my stay and it was great! The spa itself is huge, very well maintained, and clean. Samantha was my masseuse, and she was great. She listened to exactly what I was describing with back pains, and she was able to get most of the knots out of my upper back. I felt like I floated out that spa. I even got to take home the muscle relaxing balm that was used during my treatment, and it works wonders after a long day at the salon.
Maria did my pedicure. She was so sweet and personable. We connected over shared careers and I really enjoyed my time with her. My polish still looks great and my feet are still smoother than ever.
Whilst you may believe (based on pricing) than the Waldorf is at the same level as either the Four Seasons or the Ritz, please beware.
The list of failings is immense:
Even the best suites (supposedly firework view) are merely plagued with the view and noise of the air conditioning plant servicing their convention centre, and the fireworks are so far away they shouldn’t even market it for this.
The rooms are lacking in many ways, from lack of housekeeping when sign is illuminated, failure to provide towels, failure to replenish toiletries, failure to collect laundry despite 6 phone calls.
Restaurant offerings are limited for the size of the resort, the breakfast room is undersized for the number of rooms resulting in either queueing each morning for 30 minutes or paying an additional $170 for two people each morning for cold food and incorrectly prepared orders.
Spa reviewer separately but again this is the most over priced spa for what you receive, again visit the Four Seasons or the Ritz if your budget allows.
Conclusion – Do not make the same mistake we did, the Ritz at Grande Lakes or the Four Seasons at Disney are both infinitely better for the same price point. If Ritz / Four Seasons are a five star (we would say six star not that it exists) but the Waldorf would be lucky to be worthy of a four star hotel ranking.
AVOID!
From start to end, my experience at the Waldorf Astorias Spa was 5 star! My husband and I are staying next door at the Signia by Hilton, and I’m 7 months pregnant, so I was able to ask valet to cart me over to the entrance of the Waldorf so I didn’t have to make the long walk, which was really convenient!
Upon arrival I was greeted at the front desk by Nicole who was exceptionally professional. She confirmed the service I had booked before taking me around the spa and explaining what amenities were available to me. The spa is so so clean, and absolutely beautiful. You can tell the staff is constantly tending to the area, refreshing towels & refreshments and keeping everything spotless.
After getting robes and slippers I waited in the relaxation lounge for my massage therapist to take me to my treatment room. Jody greeted me so kindly, and took me down the elevator to the treatment room. She made sure I got the FULL 80 minute prenatal massage & let me tell you, she has hands of gold. I’ve never had anyone take such great care of my body- it was by far the best massage I’ve ever had. The aches and pains that come with pregnancy were relieved for me and I couldn’t thank her enough. She clearly knows the musculature of the human body and anatomy of a pregnant women well because this massage was phenomenal and I feel amazing afterwards.
I’ve been to other fancy places even in other states and gotten massages but nothing has compared to this experience, it was worth every penny. I’m not sure what the employees are being paid but they need to be getting paid more for all of their incredible work and service here!!
From Check in, to check out everything was perfect. Lisa was an incredible host at checking people in and cashing people out. I had an 80 minute massage with Vivian, she was excellent also. The spa amenities included a Spa Tub, Sauna, Jet Showers, and lounge chairs in the wet area. Access to the gym and outdoor pools. There was a nice waiting area with hot tea, water, and trail mix. My only comment is that there should be complimentary champagne after service and warming stone chairs in the wet room. I will be returning very soon.
