Wilderness Park is a great cross country trail system near Tampa. It is well maintained with marked trails which could be followed with TrailFork.
Check the weather before going since trails take a while to dry up. On a perfect day (small rain a day before) the track holds the threads of the wheel really good at the right angle during turns since this trails is a mixture of dirt and sand with moderate root exposure.
Thanks for the recommendation from Outspokin Bicycles in Tampa! We rode gravel bikes around the main loop (~15 miles) of mostly mild single track with some bits of double track and paved road mixed in. Super fun and gorgeous ride. Watch out for the hog ruts.
The hiking trail on the Trout Creek side of Wilderness park is lovely, following the creek for much of the way. It’s only about a 40 minute walk round trip from the parking area through the woods to the access drive and back. Easy enough for all skill levels.
This place is dope!!!
Do you like to ride the mountain bike off road??
If so, head on down and enjoy thine self at this spot. Not much in the way of leisure riding though… This place will wear ya out!
Be careful of the sugar sand….. That stuff is a b!tch!
This is another entrance for the biking trial of wilderness park and has ample parking space . 2$ parking fee . There are trials in all levels . Indian trial is a challenging and difficult one with lots of bends and uneven surfaces . Mostly No rangers at the site or trial
